PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static image extracting device capable of easily extracting desired static image data from dynamic image data. SOLUTION: A control part 3 of a digital camera 100 which extracts optional static image data from a plurality of the static image data that continue time sequentially selects a first static image data group that does not continue time sequentially from a first range of the plurality of the static image data in response to an image selection instruction during dynamic image reproduction based on the plurality of the static image data, selects a second static image data group from a second range narrower than the first range, which regards the static image data designated from the first static image data group and outputs the static image data designated from the second static image data group.
