METHOD FOR PREVENTING SCALE BUILDUP IN BLEACHING STEP OF KRAFT PULP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing scale buildup in a bleaching step of kraft pulp with which the buildup of scale onto a transfer pump is prevented by efficient use of a scale inhibitor for the transfer pump interposed in the bleaching step of the kraft pulp. SOLUTION: The method for preventing the scale buildup in the bleaching step of the kraft pulp is carried out as follows. The scale inhibitor is added to a medium concentration pulp slurry and a bleaching chemical before charging into a feed tank when the medium concentration pulp slurry subjected to the bleaching treatment in a chlorine dioxide stage is transferred through the transfer pump connected to the feed tank to an alkali extraction stage, respectively. The scale inhibitor is mixed therewith and uniformized in the feed tank and then delivered to the transfer pump. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
