PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection system including a single rejector and a number of inspection machines using a pass/fail judgement process. SOLUTION: The inspection system includes a number of inspection machines M1, M2, Mn arranged in a row which sequentially inspect bottles as they are conveyed through the machines. From the result of the inspection by the first machine M1, the processor 22 of the machine M1 judges whether the bottle should be rejected, and passes an accept or reject signal as the case may be to the next machine M2. The processor of a machine which generates a reject signal passes the signal to the downstream processors of the machines in turn and the most downstream processor of the machine Mn passes the reject signal to a rejector 18.
