METHOD AND APPARATUS SELECTING IMAGE ENHANCEMENT TECHNIQUE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change image enhancement data for enhancing the image quality of an obtained image in an image forming apparatus such as a printer.

SOLUTION: An ink cartridge 12 incorporating a cartridge memory 18 is attached to the image forming apparatus 10. The image enhancement data programmed in the memory 18 are read by a CPU 28 of the image forming apparatus, and a control parameter at the time of printing is changed in accordance with the circumstances of remaining ink capacity or the like in the ink cartridge 12. Since the image enhancement data are programmed in the ink cartridge 12 as consumables, upgrading can be performed at the point of time when a specified period elapses after starting supply to a user. The image quality enhanced by the new image enhancement data is obtained just by changing the ink cartridge without making the user conscious of the operation for upgrading particularly.
