PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-saving, quite-efficient, economical and novel metal melting/holding furnace which can melt and hold two metal materials simultaneously and can use a forming machine such as a single material inputting machine or a single die cast machine. SOLUTION: The furnace comprises a furnace body 11 configured to freely reciprocate in a constant direction A, a first melting section 20 provided with a first material inputting part, a first melting part 22, and a first molten metal holding part 23 and a first molten metal bailing-out part 24, and a second melting section 30 provided with a second material inputting part, a second melting part 32, a second molten metal holding part 33 and a second molten metal bailing-out part 34, which melting sections are provided integrally with the furnace body 11. At least the first material inputting part 1 and the second material inputting part, and the first molten metal bailing-out part and the second molten metal bailing-out part are formed adjacent to each other in the constant direction A, and are configured to be positioned in predetermined material inputting positions X and molten metal bailing-out positions Y, respectively.
