PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driver to take evasive action for safety by making the driver visually and instantaneously grasp and judge a safe/dangerous state around the vehicle with a simple configuration in a field of view monitor system for a vehicle. SOLUTION: On the display screen 8 of this field of view monitor system for a vehicle, detection information detected by an obstacle detection sensor and information of a travel-predicted track range where the vehicle advances in accordance with a steering angle of the vehicle are converted into display symbols vertically erected from a road surface, superposed on an image around the vehicle and displayed. The display symbol of the detection information comprises planes, enclosures, etc. for example, rectangular detection display symbols 31 and 32 hold the width (detection range) and the position (detection distance) of an obstacle and are displayed such that the rectangular detection display symbols 31 and 32 erected from road surface positions are viewed. The driver can visually and instantaneously grasps where the obstacles are detected in the display screen, how far the obstacles are, or the like so that the driver can judge the safe/dangerous state around the vehicle and drive the vehicle.
