PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot air type heater for obtaining comfortable heating feeling. SOLUTION: This hot air type heater provided with a hot air diffusing port in an front face of an equipment main body is provided with a backface temperature sensor arranged in a backface of the equipment main body to detect an ambient temperature, a front face temperature sensor arranged in the front face of the equipment main body, and a control part for controlling a heating operation based on outputs from the backface temperature sensor and the front face temperature. The control part changes a set temperature set preliminarily to control the heating operation, based on a temperature difference between detected temperatures by the both temperature sensors when starting the heating operation. The preset set temperature is changed to control the heating operation, so as to cover insufficient heating feeling felt by a human body when an air temperature is low, by this manner.
