PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag controlling device capable of protecting passenger(s) properly when they are sensed as a child. SOLUTION: The air bag controlling device works when the seat occupant is a child and admits actuation of an air bag device in case judgement is passed that a seat belt is put on the seat occupant and that no seat belt is put on the occupant and the vehicle at emergency is not put under the quick brake application. Therefore, even in case judgement is passed that the occupant is child despite his being a small adult actually, the air bag device is actuated when the vehicle goes in collision and the occupant can be protected properly. In case on the other hand, judgement is passed that no seat belt is put on the occupant and the vehicle at emergency is put under the quick brake application while the occupant is judged as a child, he is assumed as flown ahead, so that the actuation of the air bag is prohibited.
