Catheter having a balloon member recessedly attached thereto

The present invention relates to catheters wherein at least one end of the balloon thereof is attached to the catheter shaft in a recess therein. Other aspects of the catheters will have both ends of the balloon recessedly secured. The recessed attachment of the balloon provides the opportunity to use a smaller stoma opening than has been necessary with prior catheters not having a recess.
