A camera system has TTL phase difference-type AF devices (45, 46) built-in in a camera body (30) and detecting a focus displacement amount of an interchangeable lens (10); a first intermediate adaptor (20) removably installable between the camera body and the interchangeable lens in order to change optical characteristics of the lens; data memory portions (16, 23) built-in in the interchangeable lens and storing first data and second data; and a camera CPU (36) built-in in the camera body, correcting the detected result of the TTL phase difference-type AF devices by using the first data when the first intermediate adaptor is not installed, and correcting the detected result of the TTL phase difference-type AF devices by using the second data when the first intermediate adaptor is installed.
