Solvent-resistant complex-shaped foam articles, sucha s transparent containers, shock absorbing inserts, busts etc. are produced from crystalline olefin polymers by using as starting material moulded sheets or webs 2-100m thick of foamy welded-together particles of thermoplastic olefin polymers having cross-linked portions, by heating these plates to 120-180 degrees C, placing then in their thermoplastic state in cold moulds, demoulding them after 3-10 minutes, and cooling them. Suitable materials are homo and copolymers of tehylene, propylene, butene or high pressure polyethylene etc. |
