PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner capable of stably forming a good toner image without causing image defects. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the toner includes a step of subjecting a toner particle dispersion containing toner particles formed in an aqueous medium or in an organic solvent to solid-liquid separation using a filter, wherein a filter with a plate filter in which through-pores are arranged is used as the above filter, when the toner particle dispersion is fed into the filter, a solid-liquid separation face comprising toner particles is formed on the pores in the plate filter, and solid-liquid separation is carried out.
