PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device superior in the maintenance performance by simplifying its maintenance, and having high cooling efficiency. SOLUTION: This cooling device comprises a cooling tower 2 having a cooling means including a cooling unit and a blower 20b-1, a chiller unit 3 including a plurality of compressors 31a-1, 31b-1, 31a-2, 31b-2, a bypass pipe 30c connected between a supply pipe 30a of the cooling unit 24 and a return pipe 30b from the cooling unit 24 to allow the cooled fluid to flow to evaporators 33a-1, 33a-2, 33b-1, 33b-2, and a cooling means including condensers 32a-32d and a blower 20b-2 for cooling them. In a case when an outlet temperature of the cooled fluid is higher than the outside air temperature, the cooled fluid is allowed to flow in the bypass pipe 30c and the cooling means including the blower 20b-1 is stopped, in a case when the outlet temperature of the cooled fluid is lower than the outside air temperature, the number of compressors to be driven, is controlled, and in a case when all of the plurality of compressors are stopped, the cooling means including the blower 20b-2 is stopped.
