PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, when a plurality of drive pulses are applied within one print cycle to eject liquid droplets, the nozzle face gets spoiled with the ejected droplets, and when the liquid droplets are made to be ejected in the spoiled state, quality abnormalities such as ejection bending, nozzle down or the like are liable to occur. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a drive signal generating circuit 77 for outputting pulse signals including a plurality of ejection drive pulses PD1, PD2, PD3 and PD4 for ejecting liquid droplets in time series within one printing cycle. Furthermore, the pulse signal includes, as a non-ejection drive pulse PDA for applying slight oscillation to meniscus so that the meniscus does not discharge liquid droplets, first signals 101a, 102a, 103a, 104a and 110a for expanding a pressure generating chamber 46, second signals 101b, 102b, 103b, 104b and 110b for holding the expansion state of the rear pressure generating chamber 46 of the first signals, and third signals 101c, 102c, 103c, 104c and 110c for contracting the rear pressure generating chamber 46 of the second signals.
