PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive denatured amylose having a thermoplastic property, flexibility and practically sufficient mechanical properties and a polymer blend composition thereof. SOLUTION: The denatured amylose is obtained by introducing one or more kinds of groups selected from a group consisting of a group represented by the formula (1): -O-(C=O)R<SP>1</SP>-(C=O)-NH-R<SP>2</SP>-(C=O)-O-, a group represented by formula (2): -O-(C=O)-R<SP>1</SP>-(C=O)-NH-R<SP>2</SP>-NH-(C=O)-R<SP>3</SP>-(C=O)-O-, a group represented by formula (3): -O-(C=O)-NH-R<SP>2</SP>-(C=O)-O- and a group represented by formula (4): -O-(C=O)-NH-R<SP>2</SP>-NH-(C=O)-O- into a main chain of amylose or a part of a side chain of amylose.
