PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify a position of a device, using changes in detection intensities in radio signals in different positions. SOLUTION: This system processes ambient commercial radio signals, using an estimation procedure, in order to estimate a probability distribution over the position or the position of device. The system may use a learning and estimation method applied to a rank vector for signal intensity vectors, and such transition to ranking of an order as in this manner is linked to a system for bypassing a consideration about an absolute signal intensity in position calculation. A considerable number of available ambient signal intensities is not required thereby, and an approximate estimate for specifying the position of the device gets easy by providing the system for providing the position estimation useful in determination of the position.
