<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electrode structure long in cycle life, high in capacity and energy density, and contributing to a secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The structure used for a negative electrode of the secondary battery using an oxidation reduction reaction of lithium has a plate-like collector and an electrode material layer including a main material of not less than 35 wt.% composed of particles of an average particle diameter of 0.5-60 μm on one surface or both surfaces of the structure. The main material is made of silicon with a purity of 99% or less, and contains an element selected from aluminum, calcium, chrome, iron, magnesium, manganese and nickel as an impurity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
