<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform more detailed determination than hitherto with respect to the kind, the depth, the thickness or the like of a defect part in a concrete structure. <P>SOLUTION: An electromagnetic wave is transmitted to the concrete structure and a reflected wave is received, and A<SB>0</SB>×r is determined by the relation between A/G on an initial motion peak of the measured internal defect reflected wave and a round-trip propagation time t and the following expression, and the kind of the defect part is discriminated based on A<SB>0</SB>×r. The expression is as follows: ln(A/G)=-(α×V×t)+ln(A<SB>0</SB>×r), where, A is the amplitude recorded in a measuring device, G is an amplification factor,αis an attenuation factor of the amplitude in concrete, V is an electromagnetic wave velocity, A<SB>0</SB>is an initial amplitude on the concrete surface of the electromagnetic wave transmitted from a transmission antenna, and r is a reflectivity of the electromagnetic wave on the internal defect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
