摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow discharge lamp in which rising of discharge start voltage by releasing of storage hydrogen of the electron emitting material is suppressed and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The glow discharge lamp is equipped with a discharge container 1, a pair of electrodes 2, 3 installed in the discharge container 1, a discharge medium made principally of a rare gas sealed in the discharge container 1, and an electron emitting material 4 which contains at least one kind of a zinc alloy and metal zinc itself that is plated in a state of stable deposition efficiency so that the storage hydrogen may be reduced and is arranged at least at one of the pair of electrodes. In order to plate in a stable deposition efficiency so that the storage hydrogen may be reduced, the timing immediately after start of plating should better be avoided when at least one kind of the zinc alloy and metal zinc itself is plated, as metal deposition efficiency is not so good at that timing.
