PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize miniaturization while the torque of a stepping motor is assured. SOLUTION: A stator assembly which encloses a rotor pivoted for free rotation comprises a bobbin 53 provided to a yoke 51 and yoke 52. The barrel part of the bobbin 53 comprises planar parallel walls 53a<SB>1</SB>and 53a<SB>2</SB>as well as walls 53a<SB>3</SB>and 53a<SB>4</SB>bent outward. Polar teeth 51a and 52a are formed at the parts corresponding to the walls 53a<SB>3</SB>and 53a<SB>4</SB>of inner edge surrounding the holes formed at the yokes 51 and 52. The polar teeth 51a and 52a are inserted in the center hole of the barrel part 53a. The bobbin 53 is wound with a magnet wire, but since the walls 53a<SB>1</SB>and 53a<SB>2</SB>do not swell in the outer peripheral direction of the barrel part 53a, the diameters of partial flanges 53c and 53b corresponding to the walls 53a<SB>1</SB>and 53a<SB>2</SB>are smaller.
