Method for determining disparities between reference and search images has the following steps: selection of a reference block (3) from the reference image, determination of a corresponding reference brightness value, selection of a search block (4) in the search image determination of a corresponding brightness value, scaling of the brightness value of the search block so that it matches that of the reference block and determination of evaluation criterion to permit determination of a degree of agreement between the blocks. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program.
