The device comprises a base portion (5) which has an inclined section (6). A table (8,8b) for mounting of the load lies on the inclined section. The table can be fixed in its horizontal position such that it can be moved vertically. The base portion is displaceable with the inclined section in the horizontal direction, so as to lift or lower the table. At least one bolt (11) working together with a guide (10), is provided on the table. The guide is arranged on a stationary support by which the table can be vertically moved.
