Method for determining the cost and working hours for maintenance work to be carried out on buildings, whereby a data processing unit requests a predefined type and number of information units relating to a selected type of work in a particular type of building. The information units in a memory are assigned values and are selected according to defined criteria. The assigned values are added and finally output.
