<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller bearing with a race ring formed of a steel plate capable of shortening the treatment time for hardening in a case of small lot multi-production, simplifying an equipment, enhancing the quality, reducing the inventory in process, and, in particular, reducing the steps when bending edge of a flange part. <P>SOLUTION: The bearing comprises a shell-type outer ring 1 formed of a steel plate and a roller 2, and at least a raceway surface 1a of the outer ring 1 is subjected to induction hardening and tempering. An inner face of one flange part 6 may also be subjected to induction hardening and tempering in addition to the raceway surface 1a.
