PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time from the time of switching on ultrasonic diagnostic equipment to the time when processing can be performed when one wants to carry out an additional functional processing. SOLUTION: When the power source is switched on, a BIOS is activated, an OS is activated, the kind of processing selecting menu is displayed, upon selecting "photographing processing", a program module including whole program modules for obtaining ultrasonic image data by performing photographing which is a basic function is loaded and performed, and upon selecting "patient information processing" which is an additional function, only program modules required for the processing are loaded and performed. According to the present invention, since only the program modules responding to the additional functional processing are loaded and performed, the time from the time of switching on to the time when the processing can be performed can be shortened.
