PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress lowering of shredding performance and soiling in the circumference of a form scrap box at the time of recovering the form scrap or the like by efficiently reducing static electricity generated at the time of shredding forms for a long period of time in a shredder. SOLUTION: The shredder is equipped with a main body section, a shredding section for shredding the form and a shredded scrap housing box which receives and houses the form shredded at the shredding section. In this shredder, a cation generator for generating cations is provided at the main body section and the cation generator irradiates the form shredded at the shredding section with cations by utilizing potential difference between potential of a discharge electrode for generating cations and charging potential of the form shredded at the shredding section. Thereby negative static electricity generated on the form scrap or the like which is easily charged with negative electricity can be efficiently reduced by action of the cations generated from the ion generator.
