PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly provide information required by a user according to a situation related to a position or time. SOLUTION: This information processor 100 has: a position specification part 9 and a communication part 8 for inputting situation information showing the situation; an input part 1 for inputting a pattern; a combination of each recognition engine to a recognition processing part 4, recognizing each combination of candidate characters from the pattern; and a recognition result decision part 5 selecting an optimum result from the combinations of the candidate characters recognized by the combination specified by the situation information, among the combinations. The information processor 100 also has: a personal information storage part 16 and a region particular information storage part 12 storing information showing a translation result or explanation; a knowledge information processing part 6 finding out the information according to the optimum result; and an LCD 72 outputting the information found out by the knowledge information processing part 6.
