PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a hermetically sealed motor-driven compressor capable of suppressing the rise in temperature in a sealed container at the time of welding a sealed container shell. SOLUTION: When a cylindrical body shell 15 and a cover shell 11 provided with a cluster 14 having a synthetic resin part without high resistance to high temperature are welded together, since the inside of the sealed container is cooled with inert gas by making the inert gas to flow in from an opposite side end part of the body shell 15 and discharging the inert gas from a discharge pipe provided at the cover shell 11, the cluster 14 is prevented from being exposed to the high temperature.
