PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable contents to be utilized easily and rapidly. SOLUTION: When a DVD disc 3 is put in a DVD player 2, a message showing that event is broadcast from the DVD player 2 to TV4-1 and TV4-2 that are all the other devices connected with a network 1. In each of the TV4-1 and the TV4-2, a message for notifying that a new medium for recording available contents is discovered is displayed on a screen. In the TV4-1, when reproduction of the discovered contents is instructed from a user, provision of the contents is demanded from the TV4-1 to the DVD player 2 and then images of the contents provided in response to the demand are displayed on the TV4-1.
