METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROXYALKYL (METH)ACRYLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate while reducing the diffusion of harmful substances caused by the disposal of waste catalyst and remarkably decreasing the amount of the catalyst in the whole production process. SOLUTION: The hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate is produced by the reaction of (meth)acrylic acid with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst. The catalyst remaining in the residue left after the distillation of the objective hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate from the reaction liquid is adsorbed to an ion exchange resin to recover the catalyst used in the reaction.
