<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, if hydrogen off-gas is exhausted before the scheduled generation stop time, hydrogen consumption efficiency is deteriorated as there are some gas which does not directly contribute to power generation in the fuel cell system operating intermittently power generation. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system comprises a fuel cell 1 and an electricity storage means charged by the fuel cell 1, and generates power intermittently by supplying a hydrogen-containing gas containing hydrogen and an oxygen-containing gas containing oxygen to the fuel cell 1, and exhausts an exhaust hydrogen-containing gas from the fuel cell 1 through an exhaust control valve 5 opened for a certain time with a prescribed period. The system is equipped with an electricity storage detection means for detecting the storage status of the storage means and a control means which, when it predicts that the temporarily stopping timing of power generation of the fuel cell 1 based on the storage status detected by the electricity storage detection means exists within a prescribed time after the next opening control time of the exhaust control valve 5, prohibits the next opening control of the exhaust control valve 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
