<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide water-based ink having excellent dispersion stability and high masking properties to a printed matter, and imparting high print density to regular paper; and to provide a water dispersion usable therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The water dispersion for the water-based ink contains a quinacridone-based pigment and a water-insoluble vinylic polymer particles containing a pigment derivative obtained by introducing an acid group to an organic pigment.
