摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polymer optical waveguide, more particularly a branch waveguide, having little light guide loss at a low cost by a simple method, and an apparatus for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the polymer optical waveguide which includes a process of manufacturing a casting mold, a process of forming the ends of recessed parts, a process of bringing the casting mod and a clad base material into tight contact, a process of bringing a curable resin to form a core into contact with resin input ports and advancing the resin into the space between the recessed part of the casting mold and the clad base material, and a process of curing the advanced resin, is characterised in that the process of advancing the curable resin into the space between the recessed parts of the casting mod and the clad base material includes a process of filling the curable resin in the ends of at least one or more of the recessed parts among the ends of the plurality of the recessed parts formed on one side of the branch as the resin input ports, sucking the resin from the ends of the at least one or more of the recessed parts among the ends of the plurality of the recessed parts formed on another one side of the branch and hermetically closing the ends of the remaining recessed parts.
