PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera enabling a photographer to confirm a selected area comfortably without hindering photography while viewing a subject image in a finder. SOLUTION: The camera realizing multifocus detection has area selecting members (4a to 4d) and sounding means (3a to 3e) on its back. A focus detection area is switched by operating the area selecting members (4a to 4d), and the photographer is informed of the switched area by the sounding of the sounding devices (3a to 3e).
