PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image detection device capable of detecting a position of an object with a high precision, even when using a small number of image detection sensors, by detecting the position of the object behind a body by detecting the shadow of each object even if the position of the object is not previously known and cannot be directly observed by the image detection sensors. SOLUTION: The image detection device comprises image detection sensors for imaging the prescribed points; a light source arranged obliquely with respect to the imaging center line of the image detection sensor; and a position calculation part which extracts a first object, by comparing the image taken by the imaging sensor with a previously taken reference image of the same position, and if there is a different shadow from that made by the 1st object, calculates the position of the 2nd object from the different shadow.
