<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute an image detection process with a small arithmetic amount. <P>SOLUTION: From a histogram analysis result Ha of an object image Ia and a histogram analysis result H(x, y) of a block image I(x, y) extracted from an input image Ib, a similarity C(x, y) is found. When the similarities C to all the block images are found, a list of center coordinates (x, y) (candidate positions) corresponding to maximal values thereof is produced. Next, a block image SI(x, y), wherein size is changed in the candidate position, is extracted, and a histogram analysis result SH(x, y) of the block image SI is obtained. A similarity SC is found between the analysis result Ha and the analysis result SH. When the block images SI of all magnification reduction rates about all the candidate positions are extracted to find similarities SC, it is determined that an image is detected, by the maximum thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
