<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a radio communication system having a low equipment cost to be constructed without installing a base station. <P>SOLUTION: The communication system causes a portable mobile communication machine 2 to have a relay function and allows radio communication to be performed by packets 18 between many mobile communication machines 2 in an expansible area, and each mobile communication machine 2 is provided with; a packet reception means; a packet discrimination means for discriminating whether received packets are addressed to the machine 2 itself or not; a packet relay means for sending packets in the case that the received packets are not addressed to the machine 2 itself or don't coincide with past received packets; a means for generating packets; and a means for sending the generated packets.
