<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent e.g. dust from adhering to a wind-up bobbin or to an optical fiber after the wind-up bobbin with a wound optical fiber is detached from a winding machine. <P>SOLUTION: The method for eliminating static charge from an optical fiber comprises winding up an optical fiber 12b around a wind-up bobbin 20, detaching the bobbin 20 from a winding machine 21, immediately directing a static charge eliminator 1 toward the detached bobbin 20, and blowing ionized air 2 against it for about 15 seconds. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
