PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the solvent resistance of an organic photoreceptor, particularly a single layer type organic photoreceptor without deteriorating the properties of the photoreceptor, and also to provide a liquid developer for the organic photoreceptor effectively performing wet development. SOLUTION: The liquid developer for the organic photoreceptor is prepared by dispersing a binder resin, a colorant, and a charge control agent in a hydrocarbon solvent having a maximum absorbance of≤0.25 at an optical path of 10 mm in the wavelength range of 250-350 nm.
