PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior case for electronic equipment whose the number of required parts can be reduced because it is not necessary to separately provide a light guide device and which can prevent uneven brightness by making the irradiation state with respect to a display window even, and to provide a projector with the exterior case for electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The exterior case 2 for electronic equipment is provide with the display window 263 on the outer face, and it is characterised in that a light emitting body 81 is mounted on a substrate 8 provided in it, and a boss 9 having a hollow section 91 surrounding the light emitting body 81 and spreading from the display window 263 toward the light emitting body 81 in the shape of approximate frustum is formed from the display window 263 toward the light emitting body 81.
