PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method of a display panel which makes a driver for driving a display panel highly durable. SOLUTION: A base pulse is applied to one side row electrode of each of all row electrode pairs in the display panel, a scanning pulse is superimposed and applied to one side row electrode of one side row electrode pair of one among respective row electrode pairs, at the same time, a pixel data pulse corresponding to an image signal is applied to a column electrode with the same timing with the scanning pulse and, thereby, a discharge cell is set to either one side state of lighting-on or lighting-out mode. Therein, the change rate of a voltage in the falling interval of the voltage in the base pulse is smaller than the change rate in the falling interval in the scanning pulse.
