摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply, as a secondary air, an air compressed by a supercharger to an exhaust emission control means while constantly maintaining a supercharging pressure at a required pressure in an exhaust emission control system of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control system comprises the exhaust emission control means 14 installed in the exhaust emission passage 13 of the internal combustion engine 1, the supercharger 15 installed in the intake air passage 9 of the internal combustion engine 1, a communication tube 25 allowing an intake air passage 9 on the downstream side of the supercharger 15 and on the upstream side of the internal combustion engine 1 to communicate with the exhaust emission passage 13 on the downstream side of the internal combustion engine 1 and on the upstream side of the exhaust emission control means 14, and a flow control valve 26 regulating the flow of gas circulating in the communication tube 25. In this exhaust emission control system, when the pressure of an intake air becomes higher than the required pressure, the flow control valve 26 is opened to lead the air to the upstream side of the exhaust emission control means 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
