<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant current switching power supply capable of settling a load current flowing through a load (e.g. a display including an LED) even when it is interrupted repeatedly. <P>SOLUTION: A switching circuit 9 connected with a control signal input terminal (DTC) for dead time control of a control circuit 4 sets a short minimum off time of a switching transistor Q1 when a load current IL is flowing and sets a long minimum off time when the load current IL is not flowing.
