<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin substrate having a resin-metal composite layer exhibiting electrical conductivity, abrasion resistance, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The resin substrate having the resin-metal composite layer is produced by forming a modifying layer having a polar group on the surface of the resin substrate, contacting the modifying layer with a solution of a metal compound to effect the adsorption of the colloid and/or ion of the metal to the polar group and disperse fine metal particles in the modifying layer.
