PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate a decryption circuit required for confirming a picked-up image on a view finder or the like by outputting an encrypted video signal and a non-encrypted video signal from an imaging device in an encrypted image pickup system. SOLUTION: In the encryption image pickup system for encrypting a video signal outputted by driving solid-state imaging devices for which the order of reading pixels is arbitrarily variable, in the order different from the arrangement of pixels, a specific example for explaining the driving the imaging devices is illustrated (numbers given to pixels indicate the order of driving). As illustrated, pixels to be driven in the order different from the pixel array of the imaging devices and pixels to be driven in the same order as the array of pixels are provided, thereby outputting a video signal to be encrypted and a video signal not to be encrypted.
