PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a camera in which a photographing mode such as a self-timer photographing mode or a remote control photographing mode is appropriately canceled. SOLUTION: While a self-timer photographing mode is set, a controlling circuit 101 recovers the respective latest photographing mode and cancels the self-timer photographing mode under the following conditions. The conditions are that (1) a photographic process is completed, and (2) a power supply dial is switched to the OFF position. While a self-timer photographing mode is set, the control circuit 101 does not cancel the self-timer photographing mode even when a period T<SB>1</SB>is counted with no half-push operation. While a 2-second remote control photographing mode or an instant remote control photographing mode is set, the control circuit 101 does not cancel the photographing mode set after the photographing process. While one of the above remote control photographing modes is set, the control circuit 101 recovers the respective latest photographing mode and cancels the remote control photographing mode under the following conditions: (1) the power supply dial is switched to the OFF position; and (2) a period T<SB>2</SB>is counted with no half-push operation.
