PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an unexpected situation that a camera power source is turned off by making a part of or all of the movable parts of a photographic lens an operation disabled state when an external power source is not connected; and to perform initialization by supplying power to a position detection part from the camera power source when the external power source is disconnected, and to restore the movable parts of the photographic lens to normal operation by the connection of the external power source. SOLUTION: In the system controller 16 driving and controlling the focus, the zoom and the diaphragm of a photographic lens 10 by motor-driving by the motor of drive units 14A to 14C, the camera power source of a camera main body is connected to a terminal 16F, and a battery 22 is connected to a terminal 16G as the external power source other than the camera power source. When the battery 22 is connected, the focus, the zoom, and the diaphragm are driven under the control of the controller 16.
