PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt width dimension measuring instrument capable of determining the abrasion quantity even in the case of a V-belt wherein the corner parts on the belt back side are trimmed to form rising parts. SOLUTION: This belt width dimension measuring instrument 10 is used for measuring the dimension in the belt width direction of the V-belt. The belt width dimension measuring instrument 10 is equipped with a pair of clamping members 12, 15 for clamping the V-belt in the belt width direction, and a holding member 11 for holding the pair of the clamping members 12, 15 so that the members can be relatively moved in the clamping direction of the V-belt. The pair of the clamping members 12, 15 is constituted so that, when clamping the V-belt, each of them abuts on the belt side surface formed in a tapered shape, to thereby regulate the movement.
