PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freezing device capable of preventing deterioration of lubricating performance in a sliding part of a proportional control valve. SOLUTION: This freezing device is provided with a compressor 11 for compressing to feed the refrigerant and the lubricating oil, an oil separator 12 for returning the oil from the compressor 11 to the compressor 11, a condenser 13 for cooling the refrigerant from the oil separator 12, an expansion valve 16 for lowering pressure of the refrigerant from the condenser 16, an evaporator 17 for generating cold air by using the refrigerant, of which pressure is lowered, the proportional control valve 18 for adjusting flow quantity of the refrigerant to be returned from the evaporator 17 to the compressor 11, a temperature sensor 21 provided near the evaporator 17 and an electric heater 23. This freezing device is, furthermore, provided with a control device 20 for opening the proportional control valve 18 a little at a degree that the refrigerant flows smoothly when temperature detected by the temperature sensor 21 is nearly equal to the predetermined temperature and for operating an electric heater 23 when temperature detected by the temperature sensor 18 is lower than the predetermined temperature.
