PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member joint structure capable of restraining bending of a joint portion between a first member and a second member of which the mutual longitudinal directions are roughly mated and the sectional surfaces are of U-shape. SOLUTION: A front side member 16 which has a pair of side walls 22 facing each other and of which the sectional surface is of U-shape and an under floor reinforcement 18 of which the sectional surface is of U-shape are roughly mated in their longitudinal direction with each other to be jointed. The opening edges are jointed with panel members respectively to form a closed sectional surface on the same side of the panel member. Under this condition, the surface of a bulk head portion 62 of the under floor reinforcement 18 is brought into contact with a bulk head portion 44 provided so as to cross over the pair of side walls 22 of the front side member 16, or they face at a clearance at and less than a prescribed value, and the surface contact between the bulk heads 44, 62 acts against bending moment.
